Enlarged systems hole. Started working on pitot mast

Tonight I spent a bunch of time trying to figure out how I could enlarge some of the systems holes that I drilled earlier. Based on Van’s wiring and pitot routing, the plans are optimized for using the Dynon ADHRS mounted in the wing. The pitot and AOA lines terminate a few bays shy of the root. So Van’s put’s wire in those holes once you get inboard of that location. The rub is that I’m installing the Garmin G3X system, which puts the magnometer in the wing, but the ADHRS in the fuselage. So I need to run the Pitot and AOA lines all the way out the root. So I had to enlarge the holes in the first four ribs so that I could fit both the wires van’s has you run for the magnometer and the pitot line through the same holes. The holes needed to be 1/2" and it required the use of a drill extension because the ribs are close together. Long story short I had to modify one of my drill extension adapters. The drill extension is over a 1/2" in diameter and there for would be able to go through the 1/2" hole of the previous rib. I I chucked in up in the lathe and turned it down to less then 1/2" so it would fit. Took some head scratch but problem solved.

The drill needs to go through those 4 ribs. I drilled two at a time. I went inboard of the first two, and came from the outboard ribs for the other two.

The extension chucked up in the lathe

The extension turned down. I had to turn down the set screw as well.
